    The Resurgence of the Red Kite in Kent!

    Until very recent years, the possibility of seeing a Red Kite in Kent at all would have been unthinkable. Persecuted into extinction across most of the UK by the beginning of the 20th Century, they were then re-introduced successfully in a handful of locations between the late 1980’s and the beginning of the new millennium. Here in Kent at the beginning of this decade we might have had the very occasional bird being spotted and it would, understandably, cause great excitement
