Education and Research
KMBRC has always placed a very strong emphasis on education and research and we have had the pleasure of working with people of all age groups and skill levels from school reception classes to degree level students, teachers, university research teams, the Kent Police and local government employees as well as conservation and ecology sector professionals.
In 2009 we were awarded the Kent Business Challenge Community Award for our services to the public in Kent in recognition of the "quality and scope of the educational outreach work that we deliver to the community in Kent".
For a small organisation, the KMBRC has a formidable skills set with staff holding higher degree level and industry standard qualifications in scientific research, ecology and database management as well as membership of professional bodies including the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). The Centre itself was one of the first in the UK, back in August 2014, to achieve fully accredited status the under Association of Local Environmental Records Centres (ALERC) accreditation scheme.
