Current Survey Work in Kent

Survey work, in this context, relates to organised projects which may have or have been given funding to establish local or regional information about certain species or habitats. Some of them require volunteers; others are small projects which help to generate records for Kent but aren't necessarily asking for submissions.

There is a considerable amount of ecological work going on in Kent each year, much of which involves some form of species and habitat recording.

In this section of the website we hope to publish a brief outline of proposed and ongoing work in an attempt to improve communication between the various parties involved in recording and ecological survey work.

If you plan to undertake any ecological work in the county please take the time to e-mail the details of your project to the record centre for inclusion in this section of the KMBRC website.

There are a number of possible advantages to publishing the details of your proposed or onoing survey here. These include:
  • A chance of requesting help and/or knowledge from volunteers.
  • The possibility of communicating and exchanging ideas with other individuals or groups who have recently conducted similar work.
  • There may be other synergies including the possibility of requesting other people conducting surveys to record additional species that you might be interested in.
Here at the records centre we hope that by acting as a "focal point" we can increase the effectiveness of the ecological work in the county.

A summary of proposed current and past ecological works can be found here.
