KMBRC Spreadsheet

The KMBRC spreadsheet has been designed as a quick and easy way to record species observations on your compter. It is also laid out in such a way that makes it easy for us to import the data directly onto our database. It is also useful as it can be emailed (which saves paper) and filled in as regularly or irregularly as you wish.

Tips on filling in the spreadsheet

  • As usual, fill in as much information as possible, where you can say what sex, and lifestage species were.
  • Use the comments box to include any extra information.
  • Make it clear what species you mean if you are using English Names, e.g. thrush (do you mean song or mistle).
  • If you are not sure of a record, don't enter it on the form, but feel free to send us a photo or specimen though and we'll do our best to help.
  • Back up your records regularly and store somewhere away from your computer.
  • Fill in as much as you can before sending it in. Have a timescale and send it in either every month, quarter (season) or once a year.
