KMBRC Forms
The records centre has generated some simple, easy to use recording forms, for people who want to jot down occasional observations, either from their own garden, local park or whilst out and about. The forms allow you to record the basic four 'w's as well as having a comments section for additional information. You can download these forms here and print them out whenever you need a new form. Please fill forms in completely before sending them to us, as it saves paper.
Tips on filling in the forms:
- Always fill in your name and address on the top (include the postcode if you haven't included any grid references, as we can use this to get grid references).
- Where possible say how many of something you've seen - this is particularly useful for bird records.
- Where possible mark on whether it was male or female and adult or young.
- If you're not sure of a record, don't enter it on the form - feel free to send us a photo or specimen though and we'll do our best to help.
- Make it clear what species you mean if you're using english names, e.g. thrush and sparrow - (song thrush or mistle, house sparrow or tree), if you don't use the full name we can't be sure what you've seen.
