Kent and Medway Biological Records Centre

Introduction

Kent has a very active and friendly recording community, comprising of many groups and related organisations of varying sizes. Often these groups get together to complete small or short-term projects. This menu provides a list of Kent's recording groups and organisations. Many local natural history societies also exist which run in villages and parishes. If you'd like your group or society to be mentioned here, please get in touch with us and we'll add on your details.

Local recording groups rely heavily on their membership for volunteers, participants and to help provide funds for local monitoring projects, habitat management and recording. Many groups have an active events calendar in the spring and summer and a wide range of interesting indoor talks and events during the winter.

Promoting events and membership is just one way the Records Centre supports these local groups. All local groups are home to a variety of people with a wealth of knowledge of their (and often other) species groups.
