Request Information - Request Information
The Kent & Medway Biological Records Centre offers a full enquiry service, which is made available to all sectors.Please note that our costs are currently under review, and will continue to be reviewed annually. There will be a price increase on information requests commencing 1st January 2008. Please click on the link for details on our current charging policy.
If you would like to receive a report highlighting records for a certain site in Kent, please follow these guidelines:
1. Download one of our information Request forms

If you do not have Adobe Reader, for veiwing and printing PDF documents, you can download a FREE copy here.
2. Print out the form and complete it
- Unfortunately we
do not accept emailed copies
of the form, we need to receive a signed hard copy by post or fax in order to release the data to you. - If you feel the form doesn't meet your requirements please sign and date it and include a covering letter detailing exactly what information you require.
- Ideally your Information request form will include a
map of the site
you'd like us to search for you, preferably with an OS grid reference. - Please read our Information Request form Guidelines if you are unsure of how to fill out the form.
3. Send us the form and map
Please see Contact Us for our address details and fax number.At the present time, a standard enquiry can take
up to ten working days to complete
. Should you require a more rapid turnaround then,on payment of a 20% surcharge and subject to the ongoing workload, your enquiry can be fast-tracked
. Please contact the KMBRC for further details before submitting your enquiry.If you are faxing a map, then please ensure the highlighted study area will be very obvious on a low quality black and white fax. Highlighter pens do not come out at all well.
If your request is urgent, then you may e-mail a form to KMBRC as an attachment, although it should be understood that no data will be released without receipt of the
original printed, signed copy
.We are also in a position to deliver reports for the Development Farm Environment Plan and to undertake project work on behalf recording groups, statutory agencies and charities with specific requirements. Please contact us for further discussion.
Please note that the Records Centre would have no data to supply without the hard work and dedication of Recording Groups. If you use our enquiry service please make provisions to send any data you collect about a site back to the KMBRC in order to maintain Kent's high quality and up to date dataset.
