KEID - About KEID
In 2002 the North East Kent Coastal Research Workshop identified the need for a centralised point at which the disparately distributed scientific information relating to Kent's marine and coastal environments, carried out by a range of organisations, could be easily located. The development of a central collation point in the form of a metadatabase would enable users to find out what work has taken place where. With funding from Kent County Council, the SAIL Project, Interreg IIIB, English Nature and Warwick Energy, KMBRC hosted the Kent Coastal & Marine Information Database Project with a database developed from Sussex Biodiversity Record Centre's Environmental Survey Directory (ESD).
The Kent Environmental Information Database (KEID) holds metadata relating to reports and other documents stored at a variety of source organisations, with a current focus on the marine and coastal environments of Kent. An on-line search can be carried out by keyword, publication date, author and subject area, with search results giving details on the documents and contact details to where they are stored.
Additional reports will be added to the KEID at regular intervals, if you or your organisation have any contributions to make, please contact info@kmbrc.org.uk.

KMBRC and the Kent Coastal & Marine Information Database Project would like to thank all the database contributors and Project Officers Stefanie Buell and Nancy Maier.
